ConnectedTown was established in November 2006 with news collected
from Morris County, NJ towns. For our next phase, we will expand our
collection of news to other adjacent areas in northern New Jersey. Future
phases call for the same type of expansion across the state so that all
news will be gathered for all municipalities by year-end 2007.
If resources permit, we will attempt to accerate the schedule.
Our immediate goal is to add towns county by county. A town becomes
active when we gather enough current information to accurately profile
the town and are assured that at least some news articles are available
for publishing. There are two types of requests from towns that we will
respond to:
- Towns that have already been set up (e.g., Morris County municipalities)
may request to register immediately to add or change information that is aleady
active. They will be given priority over other town requests and will usually
be approved and given access within 1 to 2 days.
- Towns scheduled for a future phase may request to participate in advance of
their planned start date provided they agree to continue to build content for
that town.
The following is our schedule for town setup and publishing. Note that this should be used only to approximate access to news for your town.
- November thru December 2006 - Initial Expansion
(Morris, Passaic, Sussex)
- January thru March 2007 - North Jersey
(Warren, Bergen, Essex, Hudson)
- April thru June 2007 - Mid-Jersey

- July thru September 2007 - South Jersey
(Burlington, Ocean, Camden, Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland, Atlantic, Cape May)
- October thru December 2007 - Remaining NJ Towns/Counties Completed
